Since 2015, the KJT launched its youngest service, the English speaking Online Help.
The English speaking Online Help is a fantastic offer for children and youth, but also for parents. We have a fully trained team at our Online Help of English speaking counselors who treat each request with openness, respect and in a non-judgmental way.

Why is the Online Help important?
Sometimes children and teens experience difficult situations and are ashamed. Sometimes, it’s difficult to speak about something. In these moments, it is sometimes helpful and easier to contact a low-threshold and anonymous service, especially in small communities as in Luxembourg. Sometimes, children who contact us dare for the first time to talk or to write about their concerns. We listen to them and can give advice. Contacting us can be a glimmer of hope in a desperate situation. Sometimes, we motivate them to make a second step, to ask for help in their family, in their friend circle or to ask help in their school or in an adequate service related to the topic.

The essential principles governing our work are: Confidentiality, No intervention, Availability, Respect and Tolerance.

The most common messages we receive are related to bullying, family relationships, physical and sexual abuse, as well as drugs and peer related worries.

We are organizing a new training group and are looking for new volunteer Online Help counsellors who want to join our team.

Who can participate?
Every man or woman interested on children and adolescents and on psychological or pedagogical topics. Future volunteer counsellors should be psychologically resilient, be flexible in their thoughts and open-minded. If you have the ambition to learn something new and without being afraid of personal development, please contact us.

Requirements of the training:
70 hours taking place on Wednesday evenings from 19 to 22 o’clock, such 3x a year on weekends (Friday 19-22h, Saturday 9-17h).
